This video is a general overview of the Automatic Temporary Restraining Orders (ATROS) in California divorce and child custody cases. These orders are made by the court when your case is filed and generally prevents: (1) sale, transfer, or liquidation of assets (Divorce Only), (2) cancelation of insurance policies (Divorce Only), and (3) out of state travel with the minor children (Divorce or Custody). To ensure the other party has notice to these orders and are subjected to the court's jurisdiction, it is important to make sure they are served with a copy of the summons.
If you need help filing your divorce or custody case in California, or are not sure whether an ATROS has been violated, please feel free to give our office a call.
